Dinner with Konisky

Just got back from dinner with the Konisky clan - Ray and Karen and the crew. Ray was the marine scientist at the Nature Conservancy office I worked at during the summer of 2007. They have a place here so we had dinner with them and their two kids and their kids' friends - 10 people for dinner. Good clean fun with excellent people. ~Wm

Happy Birthday (yesterday) Jebus

If you believe what they say, yesterday was Jesus' birthday.  There were 70-mph winds at the hill so everyone was at the Outdoor Center high on holiday sugar and itching to be outside.  It was super busy and tiring.  Our volunteer patrolman, Joe, and his family invited us over for dinner - a "set it and forget it" chicken, with mashed taters, peas, gravy, cranberry and spinach soufflĂ©.  This was preceded by smoked salmon, oysters, steamed mussel (all provided by Bill), and baby shrimp.  It was wonderful.  ~Wm

SO TIRED

Skied the hill and found plenty of fresh powder.  Ripsaw and Boomauger were so sweet I was just giggling to myself the whole way down!  Then I came down to the Outdoor Center and put 8 tough km on skate skis.  Good day.  ~wm

2.5 Feet

Hello from the 'Loaf.

It is days like today that we can truly see why this place is called Sugarloaf. It is a big loaf of sugar out there! We just received 28 inches of snow. Last night we tried to sled but there was too much snow! It is super dry and fluffy to boot!

Ahh, what a day to have off!

Another Blog?

Yup, just in time for the holidays and no longer just about New Zealand (though we do still talk about that trip quite a bit). The link to our NZ trip is to the right, your other right, if you want to reminisce.

We are now in Maine back at Sugarloaf! Skiing already.
